An Update from J’s Custom Landscaping
The world around us has changed a lot since we started our company twenty years ago. We’ve experienced the highs and lows, and everything in between, alongside the community of people and businesses we serve. Regardless of what happens around us, we’ve always kept what’s most important in focus: connecting to our customers, caring for our employees, building lasting relationships based on trust and respect, and providing the absolute best possible service to the families, businesses and communities that surround us.
Currently, we are dealing with new and unprecedented obstacles on a daily basis as the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic continues to impact on our daily lives. We understand that we have a responsibility to protect the things that are important to us, including every customer, employee, and community member. We have enacted new policies in response to this situation, and while they don’t affect the level of service we’re committed to providing, they do allow us to operate in a way that provides an increased measure of safety for everyone. These policies include the following:
- We are currently not accepting cash or checks. Payment for services can be made easily, securely, and using our no-fee eCheck payment system.
- We are providing “no-contact” appointments for customers, which means we can evaluate your property, provide estimates, and complete projects while respecting recommended social-distancing guidelines.
- Our offices have been closed to the public, and access is limited to essential personnel only. All employees are required to routinely and completely wash or disinfect hands and work surfaces routinely, and we have added additional rounds of cleaning and applications of disinfectant products to our work vehicles.
- Our staff stays informed and up-to-date on the Coronavirus and how to prevent its spread. We are all doing what we can, every day, to make sure we keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
We are all impacted by the potential consequences of COVID-19 in a very real way, and we share the concerns of the public regarding health and safety, the economy, and changes in family life. We’re asking ourselves and each other the same questions many of you are, and even though the future seems uncertain and unpredictable, we want you to know a few things–
First and foremost, we are here for you! We know that despite the disruptions, the world keeps turning and our customers still rely on us. Our team is dedicated to the work they do and the customers they do it for, and that will never change.
Second, we’re here for our staff and their families. We’re dedicated to providing safety and support to each and every one of our 42 employees, as well as their 200+ family members.
Third, we seriously appreciate you! Whether we see you once a week, once a month, or once every few years, your patronage, referrals, and feedback are what keep us going.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are for you, our friends, our community, our country and the whole world. Make a choice to be a positive influence on those around you, every day.

In accordance with Washington state (and Oregon shortly before it) enacting a “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” procedure prohibiting non-essential business and gatherings. We are updating our processes and wanted to provide the following guidelines to our customers.
Washington state’s guidelines are built on the same verbiage from Federal disaster responses, as well as earlier states’ shelter in place orders. These guidelines typically permit landscaping activities as an essential part of maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and orderly operation of our society, including businesses and residential properties.
Unless instructed otherwise by industry leaders in our state or a government entity, we will continue with operation. This includes providing routine maintenance services as well as landscaping projects to our valued clients.
Please respect our initiative to push for strict enforcement of social distancing guidelines and maintain 6 feet of distance or more from our crews and employees. We ask that you join us in staying home for all non-essential activities. Our sales representatives, office staff and crews are available by phone for questions or concerns regarding any landscaping projects.
Our office is available by phone or email for any requests, questions, or concerns you may have in the meantime. Stay home, stay healthy.
