In order to meet Clean Water Services’ stormwater facility guidelines, we planted native trees and shrubs and brought this new development up to specification. This included over 26,000 plugs, or small native grasses, planted 5 inches apart. This helps keep water on-site– native plants help treat the soil and process contaminants, preventing run-off from developments from heavily impacting the water system. Jute netting we laid down helps with erosion control. For more information on storm water facilities, check out Clean Water Services’ page on it.
